“But we’re not trying to solve a rash of crimes,” Milo said. “We’re just trying to solve one.”

Jazz looked thoughtful.

“Stealing the time capsule wasn’t Gordon’s only prank,” she pointed out. “Maybe if we learned more about the other tricks he pulled, we could figure out where he hid the time capsule.”

“Miss Adler again?” Milo asked.

Jazz nodded. “Let’s go find her right away.”

CHAPTER SEVEN

The food truck had left the park, to Bitsy’s disappointment and Jazz’s relief. The bandstand was empty too.

“Excuse me!”

A plump woman in a tight pink suit teetered toward them on very high heels.

“Can you show me where the skeleton was found?” she asked.

Jazz pointed. The hole had been marked off with bright orange traffic cones and neon yellow police tape. The workers’ shovels lay beside the cones.
